about

This is a collection of ‘old and new’ tunes, a couple of which are nods to musicians whose impact I have felt over the years. The influence of Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd on/in my music surfaces in direct and in-direct ways. The absorption of the music of others can create a unique voice for musicians. ‘Hop, Skip, and a Jump’ and ‘Evening Saunter’ are new tunes which explore a long form. ‘Songs of the Humpback Whale’ was written over forty years ago, while ‘Miles’ and ‘imiiimi’ were both written over 20 years ago.

I want to thank Marty Honda, Joe Roark, Preston Carter, Terry Carleton, Amy Barnes, Slim Heilpern and Penny Hanna for their contributions. I want to thank Robert Rich for his mastering. Once again, I thank my wife, Charlotte Villemoes, for her positive support through the creation of this collection and for the cover which is a painting of hers.
